The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.
AUGS continues to advocate for physician reimbursement through staff and volunteer committees who keep abreast of billing, reimbursement and other issues that affect our membership’s ability to provide optimal care and maintain access for women seeking care with pelvic floor disorders. AUGS coordinates advocacy efforts in physician payment with the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Medical Association (AMA).
AUGS recently joined national medical societies and state medical associations in sending a letter to the House and Senate leadership urging action on legislation that will provide greater Medicare payment stability for physicians when Congress addresses the physician fee schedule conversion factor cuts after the November elections. The letter calls on Congress to enact 1) an annual, permanent inflationary payment update in Medicare tied to the Medicare Economic Index (MEI); 2) budget neutrality reforms; 3) an overhaul of MACRA’s Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS); and 4) modifications to Alternative Payment Models (APMs). The letter to congressional leaders can be found here.
