Dear Colleagues,

 

The recent increase in COVID infections has prompted discussions with the AUGS Board and we have made the decision to continue to plan for an in-person PFD Week 2021, October 12-15 in Phoenix, AZ with the option for virtual for those who cannot or choose not to attend in person. This will be done with the top priority of the safety of all attendees, our industry partners, and AUGS staff. As a result, the Board decided that we will require all in-person attendees, exhibitors, and staff to provide proof of vaccination to attend this year’s PFD Week in person.

 

AUGS will partner with a third-party service that will confidentially process your medical documentation regarding COVID-19 vaccination and will provide pre-approval for each in-person attendee. This process will be sent to all in-person attendees and must be completed in advance of your arrival at PFD Week.

We plan to do our utmost to provide a safe and enjoyable environment with which to reunite together as colleagues and friends. We also understand that contingencies may need to be made for pre-recording of presentations due to academic travel restrictions; information in this regard will be forthcoming. AUGS will also continue to monitor updates and guidance recommendations from the CDC and the State of Arizona and will communicate any updates as the situation evolves. Many of us were hoping that AUGS PFD Week 2021 would be free of the concerns and limitations experienced at PFD Week 2020. However, I do feel that we are in a much better place as we are vaccinated and that is an important step in ultimately overcoming this pandemic experience.
