President's Perspective: PFD Week

Dear Colleagues,

As we jump into the heat of summer and indulge in well-deserved vacations, it's incredible to realize that is only three months away! Once again, our urogynecologic community will convene in October to exchange ideas, participate in inspiring presentations and interactive workshops, and network with experts from around the world. This is our annual opportunity to spend time with so many of our friends, colleagues, mentors, and mentees, and to meet new people who are also passionate about urogynecology surgery, evidence-based care, and research. This year in Portland, PFD Week promises to be an exceptional event and a lot of fun!

Megan Schimpf, Danielle Antosh, and the entire PFD Week Program Committee have been diligently working to make this meeting truly memorable for both in-person and virtual attendees. This year, we have some exciting additions to the program. The will take place on Wednesday evening, coinciding with the highly competitive ; this will allow for more time to connect with colleagues and explore Portland on Thursday and Friday evenings. Additionally, we have an outstanding lineup of workshops, including a collaboration with ALAPP, the Latin American urogynecologic society. This workshop, conducted in Spanish, will explore the topic of "" (The landscape of urogynecology practice in Latin America). We feel fortunate to collaborate with urogynecology partners from around the globe.

I'm excited to share that we have received over 400 research abstract submissions, setting a record! These outstanding submissions will fill our oral and poster sessions and will ensure a vibrant scientific program. Our registration counts are also ahead of schedule, perhaps reflecting that many of us are eager to return to a more “normal” post-COVID PFD Week experience.

We cannot wait to see you at what we hope will be one of the most well-attended AUGS meetings in recent history. You can save costs by taking advantage of the if you register before August 14!

I can’t wait to connect with all of you in person this fall. Let's make PFD Week 2023 unforgettable! As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at .

With warm regards,

Catherine Bradley, MD
