We continue to get closer to seeing each other again at the upcoming PFD Week 2021. As I noted a few weeks ago, the programming for this year’s meeting will highlight excellence in the latest research, updates in clinical care approaches and translational initiatives, as well as many social and networking opportunities to reconnect. Just as your research and other didactic efforts are important in the success of our annual PFD Week meeting, your volunteerism with AUGS is what makes us such an effective, forward-thinking Society.
The Board recently approved a transition to one-year committee terms that can be renewed for up to three consecutive terms. This new policy was enacted to allow more flexibility for our members to volunteer and serve on committees! On June 1, the AUGS Call for Volunteers and Board Nominations will launch. I encourage all members who are interested in getting involved with AUGS to consider volunteering for one of our many committees or running for election to the Board of Directors. Your active participation in the Society will result in beneficial outcomes for you and the Society and ultimately in the care of our patients.
I continue to be honored to represent you all in leading this esteemed Society. If you have any questions regarding volunteering or running for the Board, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
Best regards and be well,
Holly E. Richter, MD
President
